human, babies and people, evolution, reaction. Formation
of the circle. Progress is measured in the development
of roads, electricty, cars, houses and shops. We need
the sea, air, rocks, green, birds and wind for freedom
from progress. The future of resource is in the hands
of the parents of today. Children will inherit their
parent's descions, it will be of consequence. <Eventually
we will all be the sea, rocks, air, wind and sand again.>
'One day at Island Bay' is the theme of these images.
It is an explination of these ideas through the language
of the eye. People in the part of the world called New
Zealand have a special relationship to their land. This
is because it is all around them- always. So the land
feeds people here in at least two real ways, physically
and spiritually. The water is clear, the wind is keen.
It bites. AOTEAROA is Maori for New Zealand and also
means: Land of the Long White Cloud! Maori have to decide
the future of their resources for their moku puna (means:
"children" in the Maori Language) the parents
of the world decide the future of their savings for
their children. |
